A Comprehensive Guide to Adhesive Product Care and Maintenance
Before affixing the Adhesive Product to a flat surface, be sure all surface paints, clear coats and waxes are cured or hardened.
Approximate curing times are:
Paint: 90 days
Clear Coat: 60 days
Wax: 2 days
Prior to application, clean the surface with a mild detergent.
Wipe with a soft cloth and allow to dry. Follow the recommendations on the detergent and those of the car manufacturer.
The Adhesive Product should be at room temperature when applying.
Take care when handling the Adhesive Product in extreme temperature conditions, as it can become hard to handle.
Ensure the surface is smooth, flat or only slightly curved.
Don’t apply the Adhesive Product on an area that isn’t smooth, that has contamination, or is porous.
Ensure the surface is cool to the touch.
Remove masking film Before Exposing Graphic to sunlight.
Make sure the entire Adhesive Product is flat against the surface.
Ensure there are no air pockets, moisture, or contamination between the Adhesive Product and the vehicle surface, and that corners and edges are smooth and flush with the surface.
Surface contaminants on the edges of the Adhesive Product may result in the Adhesive Product falling to adhere properly.
Wash once a week.
Use a gentle automotive detergent.
Use a soft sponge or microfibers to clean.
Rinse the vehicle with clear water after washing.
Minimize water spotting.
Dry with a clean microfiber cloth.
Clean and dry the area.
Away from direct sunlight, excessive atmospheric moisture, or humidity.
Ambient temperatures less than 100 °F (ca. 38 °C) and relative humidity is less than 80%.
Failure to review and abide by these warnings could result in damage to the Adhesive Product or your vehicle, and could increase the likelihood that the Adhesive Product will not adhere properly and may fall off during use.
Remove any Adhesive Product if it contains any bubbles, wrinkles, bent corners and/or edges or is otherwise damaged.
Never exceed the speed limit or any recommended maximum speed.
Don’t place the Adhesive Product over protrusions, fixtures or concave areas, such as: molding, lights, reflectors, air intakes, wells, and spoilers.
Take care not to place it in direct or constant sunlight or extreme heat.
Don’t layer one Adhesive Product on top of another when applied to vehicles.
Long-term outdoor usage of Adhesive Product on painted surfaces may result in fading, due to shielding the underlying color from ultraviolet rays.
Do not leave the Adhesive Product inside or outside hot items, such as: vehicles, garages, and exterior surfaces
Always remove any masking film or application tape from the graphic immediately after application. Masking film tape left on the graphic after application can quickly and permanently adhere to the graphic when exposed to sunlight.
Avoid Pressure Washers and Automated Car Washes as it can cause the Adhesive Product to lift
Avoid cleaning with strong cleaners such as: solvents, oil-based cleaners, kitchen or bathroom cleaners, and alcohol-based cleaners.
